Badminton Junior Group Training Program.

Classes are available for members and non-members.

Dress Code

Clean indoor non-marking court shoes. No outside shoes are allowed on court

Payment

  • Registration will be only accepted in the office Monday to Friday 10:00am – 5:30pm, the method of payment can be either cash or cheque.
  • Cost includes tax & nylon shuttles. Juniors will supply feather ones on their own except Group A & AA.

Refund Policy

  • No refund after group starts.
  • No rebate will be given for missed classes.
  • If class has not started and refund is requested, there are 2 options:
    1. Hold credit for a later session
    2. For non-members, a VRC administration fee $21.00 will be deducted from the refund.  Full refund for members.

SKILL LEVELS

All Junior Group Training sessions are divided by skill level.  Please contact VRC Office if you are unsure of your skill level to ensure that you register in the appropriate class.

All groups are limited to 18 spots.

Beginner Level

This group session is designed for those who have had little to no previous experience with badminton and are looking for a basic introduction in the sport.

Skills Taught: Overhead clear, drop, smash, high and low singles serve, defence, 1/2 court singles, net shot and lift, basic singles strategy

B Level

This group session is designed for players who have some experience in the sport and wish to build on top of their foundation and further their skills obtained from beginner lessons. Players will learn a total of 27 skills in the 2-3 years it typically takes to pass this level.

B & A/B Level

This group session is designed for players who wish to further develop their playing skills from beginner to intermediate and advance to an A/B level.

A/B Level

This group session is designed for experienced players who are familiar with the ins and outs of badminton. Students learn the 27 skills with movement and engage in tournament play. Most players enrolled in A/B are high school students playing at a higher level. It typically takes 2-3 years to pass all the skills.

This group session is designed for experienced players who are very familiar with the ins and outs of badminton. Players are at an advanced level and furthering their skills through strategic game play and advanced training.

A & AA Level

This group session is designed for experienced players who are very familiar with the ins and outs of badminton. Players are at an advanced level and furthering their skills through strategic game play and advanced training. Students will develop on 54 skills in the 2-5 years it typically takes to pass this level. Many students in the past have won Provincial and National titles.
