Membership Information for Phase 4 Reopening

We are now accepting NEW members during our Phase 4 Reopening!

 

General Information

The playing season of the Vancouver Racquets Club covers a twelve (12) month period from May 1st to April 30th.  There is no initiation to join the club.  Applicants can register for: Squash, Badminton, or Fitness.  When you join Squash or Badminton, it also includes Fitness.

Each new member must be aware of and agree to Protocols and Guidelines for operations under COVID-19.  Details can be found here.

 

Annual dues (May 2020- April 2021)

  • The Adjusted Annual rates listed below are available to last year’s members only and are due on renewal.
  • Membership dues are for one full year ending April 30, 2021 and are non-refundable.  Fees will be prorated for new members on the day of joining.
  • All memberships must be made over the phone with a credit card.
  • Pre-authorized instalment plan is available, please contact the office for details.

Guest Privileges

No guests are allowed in the club during this phase.  All players must be members.

Types of Memberships

Adult:
Adult (full) membership entitles members to play from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week.

Spouse:
A spouse entitles full playing privileges at a discounted rate.

Senior Citizen:
A person who is sixty-five years of age or older as of the beginning of the current membership year shall qualify as a Senior Citizen.

Full-Time Student – Up to 30:
An individual who is in full-time (minimum of 9 credit hours or equivalent) attendance at a post secondary or other educational institution. Proof of enrolment at said institution will be requested.  Valid for Students up to 30 years old.

Youth Adult (19-24):
For young adults 19 to 24. This membership allows full playing privileges from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week at a discounted rate.

Family Youth (19-24):
For young adults 19 to 24 who have a parent that is a full member.  This membership allows full playing privileges from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, 7 days a week at a discounted rate.

Family Junior:

A child of an adult (full time) member who would otherwise qualify as an Independent Junior member, shall qualify for membership as a Family Junior.  Member may only play during such hours designated by the Badminton or Squash Directors.

Independent Junior:
A person who qualifies as a junior who is under 19 according to Badminton B.C. or Squash B.C. at the beginning of a membership year shall qualify as an Independent Junior. Member may only play during such hours designated by the Badminton or Squash Directors.

Daytime Only:
Daytime membership is being offered for Squash or Badminton. Play limited to the hours of 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays — Monday to Friday.

Early Bird (Not available in Phase 3):
Early Bird membership is being offered for Squash or Badminton. Play limited to the hours of 6:00 am to 8:45 am on weekdays — Monday to Friday.

Social (Not available in Phase 3):
Social memberships are only available to those persons who are members in good standing at the end of a particular season. There are no playing privileges for Social members. Guest fee must be paid for Social members to use the facilities.  If there is a waiting list, a Social member may not become a playing member in mid-season but will have priority over the people on the waiting list for the following year.  Dues are non-refundable and cannot be applied towards membership dues. Dues can only be pro-rated once from November 1st.

Out-of-town (Not available in Phase 3):
Out-of-town members are entitled to play a maximum of 12 times in one year.  To be eligible, a person must reside beyond an 80 kilometre radius around the club. Out-of-town members must sign the guest book and indicate their Out-of-Town status (no guest fee is required). Dues are not refundable. If there is a waiting list, an out-of-town member may not become a full member in mid season, but he/she will have priority over the people on the waiting list for the following year.

Squash Doubles Only:
Gives you access to the Doubles Squash court from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and also access to the fitness area every day of the year.  The membership is for squash players who wish to play doubles only squash.

Fitness Only:
Allows use of fitness facilities.  Fitness Only members have no access to the Squash or Badminton courts.  The Fitness Area is open from from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm every day of the year.

Door Key (FOB):
All FOBs are turned off during Phase 3.  Access to the building is by booking or appointment only.
