How do I get to the Vancouver Racquets Club?
The Vancouver Racquets Club is located at 4867 Ontario Street at the intersection of Ontario Street and 33rd Avenue. The main landmarks are Queen Elizabeth Park to the west and Nat Bailey Stadium to the north beside VRC. (see adjacent map)
Is there parking available?
Parking is permitted only in marked parking spots by members of the Club and their registered guests. Cars parked in areas other than the allowed spots, or not displaying a VRC parking sticker, or not signed in the guest book shall be towed at the owner's expense.
Is there a dress code?
Members are asked to dress appropriately and neatly in the spirit of badminton and squash sport. In determining acceptable dress, good manners and good sportsmanship prevail while neatness, tidiness and choice of colour are important considerations. Wear light coloured clothes when possible. In all cases, proper sports attire is required.
No black soled shoes are permitted on court. Only non-marking shoes are permitted. Indoor court shoes are preferable.
Is there daycare available?
Unfortunately, there are no daycare services available at this point. All children under the age of twelve are to be under direct supervision of a designated adult at all times while on the Club's premises, except during a junior event organized by the Club. The designated adult is expected to control the child's behaviour so they do not become a distraction to members, particularly on and around the Club's courts. A designated adult will not be considered to be directly supervising the child if that adult is playing on the courts. Juniors under 16 are not allowed in the Club after 10:00 pm without parent and/or adult supervision. No juniors are allowed in the Club between the hours of midnight and 7:00 am.
Can I rent the Vancouver Racquets Club for a special event?
Certain areas of the Club are available for rental purposes for meetings, parties, banquets, and other social functions. Rates are available by calling the VRC Office at 604-874-0242.
